First Snow

We woke up to snow today! We may not have had a white Christmas, but a white New Years Eve? I'll take it. Nick was super excited as he pulled the blinds up and blinded us. He eagerly grabbed Abbey and held her up to the window so she could see snow for the first time and I caught this adorable picture.

I'm not sure that she knew what was going on but for mine and her daddy's sake we will say she loved it! Then, Abbey and I decided to brave the weather to go to Target. She woke up with a stuffy nose and of course I couldn't find the nose sucker anywhere, so off to the store we went to get a new one! Abbey looked adorable in her cute new hat she got from her Aunt Tara for Christmas and of course I got pictures. Oh, and I am sure this will embarrass her one day, but I got a picture of me in my sock monkey hat.

My Favorite Place to Be

As I was sitting in church today holding Abigail as she slept soundly in my arms I looked around at all the families cuddled up to each other and thought to myself: Man, we are lucky. Not just Nick and I, but everyone. All of Heavenly Father's children. He loves us. He loves us so much that he has given us a way to have families and be loved. We know what it feels like to love and be loved. While that can hurt sometimes and it is not always easy to have feelings it is most definitely worth it. Take the good with the bad right? Right. I would take pain any day to also feel love. While the world we live in can be very negative with a lot of evil going on it can also be amazingly beautiful. I just had an overwhelming sense of gratitude come over me. Maybe it was my wonderful husband cuddling me with his arms around me or maybe it was my beautiful little girl in my arms, or maybe it was the man talking about our Savior, but whatever it was I was so very thankful. I hope I can remember that and keep that sense of gratitude around...
