Sixteen months

Weight: 19 pounds 6 ounces
                                                            Height: 30 inches

It has been awhile since I have done an update on her stats and milestones and she has changed so much since she was a year old so I thought it was time!

Communication: Waves, says hi and bye bye, love you, blows kisses, gives big sloppy kisses and hugs. She knows her animal noises( dog, cat, cow, horse, pig, dinosaur)

This girl has a crazy vocabulary. She literally tries to say anything she hears. Sometimes she is successful and sometimes not, but it is so cute! You probably won't believe me unless you know her when I tell you how many words she knows. She loves to read and I try to read to her at least 3 times a day, so I think this helps.

Words she says on a daily basis (I counted 33 which is totally crazy to me and the only reason I am typing them all out is so I will be able to look back one day and remember ;) )
Daddy
Mommy
Hi
Bye Bye
Papa
Chad(her uncle)
Shoes (chooz)
Juice(which really means water)
Dora( she has only seen Dora like 3 times haha so I am not sure why she is OBSESSED with her)
George(curious george)
Please
Thank you
Ball
GOAL! when she kicks her soccer ball into the goal
What's this
What's that
Why
Bite(she says this when she wants to eat)
Book
Baby
Up
Down
Doggie
Shhh(when I pretend to sleep)
Hot(she started this when I tried to feed her something and she abruptly told me "hot")
Abbey
Night night
Love you
Yes
No
Ouch
ohhh (at anything new or exciting)
Hat (she is obsessed with them, if you are wearing one she will repeatedly say hat hat hat hat until you give it to her haha)
And the last and cutest word she can say is "Jesus" it is clear as day and so adorable! She will point to his picture in our house and say it or at church anytime she sees his picture on the wall she says it.

Her Favorites: Dancing, drawing, playing soccer, having mommy or daddy say ready set go and then racing us, reading books, exploring, hats, animals, taking her shoes off and asking me to put them back on…we do this like 50 times a day haha its so cute, food…she is SUCH a good eater. She still nurses quite a bit, but she loves food so much!

Her not so favorites: Going night night, being told no, and she gets a little stir crazy if we have to be in the house all day. She loves to be constantly doing something, which is great but makes life a little more interesting when I have run out of shoes to put on her and books to read and crafts to make.

It is CRAZY how much she has grown. She is way smarter than I ever imagined her to be...who knew your 16 month could outsmart you on every level? HAHA, no but really. I feel like with every stage in her life there is something new and exciting that she is doing, which is really amazing. It is so neat to watch her discover the world on her own. I want to guard her and protect her so that she never feels an ounce of pain, but I know that everything she will experience will be for her own good. I am so excited to continue to share my life with her and see her do amazing things. XOXO little girl…I love you!

December Recap

Oh. my. goodness. It has been wayyyy too loooong! I have a million excuses like I went home for 2 weeks, I started school again with 3 online classes, I am babysitting 3-4 children depending on the day, and I've been giving Abigail any of my attention when I have a free minute. When she is in bed you can find me sitting in front of a computer doing homework. Therefore, it is March and I am just now doing my December post. I am starting to have a routine and so hopefully I can get back to blogging more often considering I have a ton of posts to catch up on. Thanks for bearing with me.

This is what our December looked like!

Our December was busy, but I will just do the highlights. We went to see Santa and Abigail was terrified of him and then we made gingerbread nativities with our neighbors.

P.S. our tree was awesome! It looked like the charlie brown christmas tree hahaha. It looked so much fuller in the forest.

Christmas Eve we went to my friends house. ( I serve in Young Women's with her and she is amazing!)
Then, we went home and read "Twas The Night Before Christmas to Abigail. After this she opened her daddy daughter gift. My dad started a tradition a long time ago where he would get me a special present from him and I got to open it on Christmas Eve. He still does it to this day and it makes me feel so special. Nick loved the idea and started it with Abigail. Of course since he is the biggest soccer fan EVER he got her her very own pink soccer ball and a goal. Now she can kick it in the goal and she throws her hands in the air and says "GOAL" its the cutest thing ever! After she went to bed Nick and I opened up the "Christmas Eve box" my parents had sent us and watched Arthur Christmas while drinking hot chocolate and eating popcorn. My daddy daughter gift was salted caramel hot chocolate from Starbucks…yep my dad is THEE best!

Our closest family is 1200 miles away so our Christmas was just us 3 this year. It was fun to have our own little intimate Christmas, but of course we missed family.

Abigail's Christmas:

The day after Christmas my husbands parents came for a week, which was so nice! And then I rode home with them and visited them for a week, and then my parents for a week. We had a lot of fun! Abigail loved Christmas and she was pro at opening gifts. She also loved going home and seeing all of her aunts and uncles and cousins. We flew home and she did sooo amazing. She didn't fuss once and I was so thankful because I had been stressing about it so much. I cannot wait to do her 16 month post because she has learned so much and is saying so much. She never ceases to amaze me.

I hope you enjoyed! The pictures from our visit home are coming soon :)

Thanksgiving

We weren't able to go home to visit family this year for Thanksgiving, so it was just our little family. We missed our family so much, but it was fun to have just the three of us. For Thanksgiving Eve we watched Christmas Vacation and drank some sparkling apple cider. It was so nice to relax and cuddle on the couch. The next day we made our Thanksgiving lunch. Abigail loved all the food, except the turkey. After dinner we drove into the mountains to pick out our first Christmas tree. We had trouble finding a very full one, but we finally found one we both liked. It was really a lot of fun spending some quality time and having fun. There was about 2 feet of snow on the ground so trekking through it to find a Christmas tree was a fun adventure.

She hated the tree. She was not thrilled about sharing a seat with it.

We have so much to be thankful for. If you take a minute to look around this life is pretty amazing! I hope you all had a Happy Thanksgiving. XOXO

Our Weekend Recap

Our weekend is actually on Wednesday night and then Thursday because that is my husbands day off and he works the weekend. It drives me crazy that we don't have him on Saturday, but we always try to do something fun on his day off. This week we got some salted caramel hot chocolates from Starbucks and went to Barnes and Noble to read Abigail some books and then we did a little shopping. This was the perfect thing for us to do with her because she loves books. If you were to sit her down in front of any toy and then put books over to the side she would go pick up the books over anything. I love her passion for them because I love reading too.

And we finally got her to sleep all night in her crib!

And here she is being silly!

I hope your weekend was as fun as ours! Until next time....

Abigial's Shabby Chic 1st Birthday Party

I remember the day we took her home from the hospital. I was so scared. She seemed so fragile and was so dependent on us. It feels like that was just yesterday and now I have this beautiful little toddler who has learned so much. I never knew I could love another person as much as I love my husband, but my heart grew when I had her and now I love them both so incredibly much.

16 hours later....

A year later...

Abigail's birthday was on November 2nd, which fell on a Saturday and was perfect for a party. I kept it small and it was a lot of fun. We were so excited that my parents got to come to town to celebrate with us. Abigail was not a fan of the cake, in fact she wouldn't even eat it at all. Instead she snacked on her green peppers haha. She got so many great gifts and she loves every single one of them. Thank you to everyone who came, who sent presents or cards, or wished her a happy birthday. She is so loved!

What Abigail Got:

She also got some clothes, books, and a snack container. Again thank you to everyone who helped make her day special :)
